Wave teapot work in progress

I threw this teapot in sections and assembled them together once they reached the leather hard stage. Then I cut out a wave from the bottom of the teapot and layed a clay slab along the new edges to form a new bottom. Layers of colored slip were applied and carved through forming the wave patterns. This piece has been through it's first firing and is anxiously awaiting the glaze application before it will be fired again and completed.
